All-On-X Fixed Teeth
Replace all teeth permanently with our stable All-On-X fixed solution.

All-on-X Fixed Teeth – Permanent Full-Arch Tooth Replacement
At Bedrock Dentistry, our All-on-X treatment replaces an entire arch of missing or failing teeth with a full set of permanent, non-removable teeth supported by just 4-6 strategically placed dental implants. Unlike removable dentures that slip and restrict what you can eat, All-on-X gives you fixed teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth—often in just one day. You'll walk out of our office with a complete, beautiful smile and the ability to eat the foods you love with confidence.
What is All-on-X?
All-on-X (also called All-on-4, All-on-6, or full-arch implant restoration) is a revolutionary treatment that replaces all your upper or lower teeth with a permanent prosthesis anchored to 4-6 dental implants. The "X" represents the number of implants used, which varies based on your bone quality, jaw anatomy, and functional requirements.
Instead of placing one implant for each missing tooth (which would require 10-14 implants per arch), All-on-X uses advanced surgical planning and strategic implant positioning—including angled posterior implants that maximize existing bone—to support a complete arch of teeth with minimal implants. The full prosthesis is securely screwed onto these implants and can only be removed by your dentist, giving you the permanent stability and confidence of natural teeth.
All-on-4 vs. All-on-6: How many implants do you need?
All-on-4: Uses four implants (two straight implants in the front, two angled implants in the back) to support the full arch. This is the minimum recommended for full-arch stability and works well for patients with adequate bone density.
All-on-6: Uses six implants for superior stability, more even force distribution, and a backup plan if one implant develops issues. We recommend All-on-6 when:
You have softer bone quality that benefits from additional support
You're a heavy chewer or grinder who places high forces on teeth
You want maximum long-term security and redundancy
Your bone anatomy allows optimal positioning of six implants
More implants generally provide better long-term success rates and stability, but also increase surgical time and cost.
Teeth-in-a-Day: Can I really get new teeth in one day?
Yes—in most cases, we can place your implants and attach a full set of functional temporary teeth the same day. This "immediate loading" protocol means you never go without teeth. You'll leave our office with a complete smile and the ability to eat soft foods immediately, though you must follow a modified diet during the 3-4 month healing period while implants integrate with bone.
After healing is complete, we replace the temporary prosthesis with your permanent final teeth, custom-designed for optimal esthetics, comfort, and durability.
All-on-X prosthesis options: 3D-printed vs. Zirconia
At Bedrock Dentistry, we offer two premium prosthesis options for your final All-on-X teeth:
3D-Printed Fixed Prosthesis (FDA-Approved)
We have an in-house SprintRay 3D printer that allows us to fabricate your fixed prosthesis with unprecedented speed, precision, and customization. This advanced technology offers several benefits:
Faster turnaround: We can design, print, and deliver your final prosthesis faster than traditional laboratory fabrication
Precise fit: Digital design and 3D printing eliminate many human errors associated with traditional denture fabrication
Cost-effective: 3D-printed prostheses are more affordable than milled zirconia while still providing excellent esthetics and function
Easily repairable: If damage occurs, we can quickly print replacement components or modify the prosthesis
Natural appearance: High-quality 3D-printed materials replicate the translucency and color gradations of natural teeth and gums
Lighter weight: More comfortable for all-day wear
Our 3D-printed prostheses use FDA-approved biocompatible materials specifically designed for permanent dental use, ensuring safety, durability, and long-term color stability.
Zirconia Fixed Prosthesis (Premium Option)
Zirconia is an advanced ceramic material that offers superior strength and longevity for patients who want the absolute best material for their All-on-X teeth. Zirconia prostheses are milled from solid blocks of medical-grade ceramic and offer distinct advantages:
Maximum strength: Zirconia is one of the strongest dental materials available, virtually fracture-proof even under heavy chewing forces
Exceptional longevity: Zirconia prostheses can last 15-20+ years with proper care, longer than most other materials
Superior stain resistance: Zirconia doesn't absorb stains from coffee, wine, or foods—your teeth stay pristine white indefinitely
Hygienic surface: Non-porous surface resists plaque accumulation better than other materials, reducing gum disease risk
Natural esthetics: Modern layered zirconia can replicate natural tooth translucency and color depth beautifully
No acrylic components: Ideal for patients with acrylic allergies or sensitivities
Trade-offs: Zirconia prostheses cost significantly more than 3D-printed options and cannot be easily adjusted or repaired if damage occurs (usually requiring complete replacement). They're also slightly heavier than 3D-printed prostheses.
Comparison: 3D-Printed vs. Zirconia All-on-X Prosthesis
Feature | 3D-Printed Prosthesis | Zirconia Prosthesis |
|---|---|---|
Strength | Excellent for normal function | Maximum strength; virtually unbreakable |
Longevity | 7-10+ years with proper care | 15-20+ years |
Esthetics | Excellent natural appearance | Exceptional; superior translucency available |
Stain resistance | Good; may develop minor staining over years | Excellent; essentially stain-proof |
Weight | Lightweight; comfortable | Slightly heavier but still comfortable |
Repairability | Easy to repair or modify in-house | Difficult to repair; may require replacement |
Cost | More affordable | Premium pricing |
Fabrication time | Faster with in-house printing | Longer; requires external lab milling |
Who is All-on-X right for?
All-on-X is an excellent solution if you:
Are missing all or most teeth in one or both arches
Have failing teeth that need extraction due to severe decay, gum disease, or fractures
Currently wear complete dentures and hate the slipping, poor chewing, and bulk
Want permanent teeth that never come out and feel like natural teeth
Are willing to invest in the best long-term tooth replacement solution
Have adequate bone volume or are willing to undergo bone grafting/sinus lifts if needed
What is the All-on-X procedure process?
Comprehensive evaluation and digital planning: We perform detailed clinical examination, CBCT 3D scans, facial analysis, and smile design. Using specialized software, we digitally plan optimal implant positions, angles, and depths before surgery.
Implant placement and immediate temporary teeth (Day 1): Under anesthesia and sedation, we place 4-6 implants at precisely planned positions, perform any necessary bone grafting, and attach a pre-fabricated temporary full-arch prosthesis the same day. You leave with complete teeth and a functional smile. Surgery typically takes 2-4 hours per arch.
Healing period (3-4 months): Implants integrate with your jawbone while you wear the temporary prosthesis. Follow a modified soft diet to protect healing implants—no hard, crunchy, or chewy foods during this phase.
Final prosthesis fabrication and delivery: Once implants have fully integrated, we take detailed impressions and work with you to design your permanent teeth—selecting tooth shape, size, and shade that match your facial features and personal preferences. Your final prosthesis (3D-printed or zirconia) is fabricated and permanently attached 2-4 weeks later.
Ongoing maintenance: Return every 3-4 months for professional cleaning and examination. Your prosthesis stays in your mouth (you never remove it), but we periodically unscrew it to clean underneath and verify implant health.
How do I care for All-on-X teeth?
Brush your prosthesis twice daily with a soft-bristle toothbrush
Use a water flosser to clean around the gum line and under the prosthesis edges
Professional maintenance every 3-4 months where we may temporarily remove the prosthesis to clean implant connections and underneath surfaces
Avoid extremely hard foods that could damage the prosthesis (ice, hard candy, unpopped popcorn kernels)
With proper care, All-on-X restorations have 95-98% success rates at 10 years.
